The officers were released from The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood while Terrance Eaton, 28, remained in custody today at Bergen County Medical Center in Paramus. His bail was $50,000.

Upper Saddle River police grabbed Eaton and held him for their Ramsey colleagues shortly after the Friday morning assault, Ramsey Police Chief Bryan Gurney said this morning.

Eaton, who refused to answer any questions, was arrested on obstruction charges while the incident was investigated, Gurney said.

Officers Scott Peterson and Anthony Fiore “were moving the suspect to the cell block [when] he assaulted and injured both [of them],” the chief sad.

He was charged with two counts of assault on police.
