One of Bergen’s brightest leads ‘Irish Broads’

Want to laugh like a hyena TONIGHT? Check out “The Irish Broads Featuring Eileen Kelly,” a special one-time-only yukfest about marriage, motherhood and growing up dysfunctional. Eileen’s a true Jersey girl — a Waldwick High School grad who made her name with “My Pony’s in the Garage,” an intimate look at her life and family that was hailed for its witty, sarcastic and graceful middle-class humor.

Eileen Kelly

She was a semi-finalist in Nick at Nite’s “Search for the Funniest Mom in America,” was one of Toyota Comedy festival’s “NY’s Funniest Women” and has been featured as a comic on NBC’s “Today” show and “Live at Five” and on Showtime.

And while it’s one thing to have a critic or audience member compliment you, Lisa Lampanelli — the Queen of Mean herself — recently said she was “completely blown away” by Kelly.

Among the four of them, Kelly, Carey Reilly, Fiona Walsh and Pat Candaras have appeared on Comedy Central, HBO, Showtime, NBC, ABC, and CBS. They’ve also headlined major comedy festivals and comedy clubs around the country, with Eileen being called “the funniest mom in America.”

From all appearances, it’s a very professionally organized and well-run show involving comics with genuine top-shelf experience — led by a bona fide headliner. Admission is $20 — but get this: No food or drink minimum.

All you need do is go to www.hyenacomedylounge.com, get your tickets in advance, print them out at home, and keep them in a safe place. The first 50 people who buy at least two tickets will automatically get one free ticket to an upcoming show.
