Mistress, ex-con fiance nabbed in plot to extort Upper Saddle River businessman

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A mistress and her ex-con fiance were arrested outside a Little Ferry motel after arriving for what they thought would be another cash pickup in an extortion plot involving a married man she’d slept with when they both worked at an Upper Saddle River car dealership, authorities said this morning.

Sarah McAllister, 24, of Shaler Boulevard in Ridgefield was being held on a combined $55,750 bail, while John Diciancia, 26, of South Main Street in Lodi was being held on more than $100,000 bail, both at the Bergen County Jail.

Both are former car dealership employees — he in Ramsey and she in Fair Lawn and Upper Saddle River. Diciancia was a sales manager while McAllister was a customer service rep, CLIFFVIEW PILOT has learned.

Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli’s Special Investigation Squad teamed up with the Upper Saddle River and Little Ferry police departments after the extortion target went to authorities a week ago.

He and McAllister “engaged in a relationship [that] continued after her departure from the company,” the prosecutor said. “Soon after, McAllister began extorting him for cash in return for not telling his employers or his family about the relationship.”

Diciancia, who is engaged to McAllister, then got involved, and the demands began to escalate, Molinelli said. So the victim went to local police.

As it turned out, Diciancia had spent a week in the county jail last month in connection with a drug-related case.

His record also includes arrests out of Midland Park, Saddle Brook, Cliffside Park and Lodi.

Originally from Teaneck, Diciancia is also wanted on an unspecified charge out of Passaic County, CLIFFVIEW PILOT has learned.

McAllister was arrested twice last month for driving while on the suspended list, once in Lodi and once in Rochelle Park, the newssite has learned.

Early yesterday, detectives and officers moved in and grabbed both suspects in the motel parking lot. They were carrying an unspecified amount of drugs, CLIFFVIEW PILOT has learned.

Both are charged with extortion in the case. McAllister also is charged with stalking.

Diciancia was also charged with violating probation for an earlier conviction.

  • EXCLUSIVE: An Upper Saddle River car salesman had already paid a former co-worker $5,000 to keep quiet about their affair when she and her fiance demanded he bring her another $2,500, a source with direct knowledge of the case told CLIFFVIEW PILOT. What they didn’t know was that detectives and local police were waiting when the couple pulled into the parking lot of the Capri Inn, just off Route 46. READ MORE….
