Mercedes mounts wall of Waldwick home off Route 17

YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST: The driver of a Mercedes Benz sedan that careened off southbound Route 17 and up the retaining wall of a Waldwick home this afternoon wasn’t seriously injured, police said.

Rubberneckers gasped at the sight of the car mounted against the wall at the corner of Bergen Avenue following the 3:15 p.m. crash.

Waldwick police, fire rescue and EMS units all responded.

The driver was taken by ambulance to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood and the heavily damaged vehicle was removed by a flatbed tow truck.
