A Glen Rock CVS clerk remembered some of Georges’s alleged boasts — including his affiliation with the Reservoir Dawgs crew — and detectives immediately went online.
There, they found the 27-year-old Georges wearing the same clothing as in surveillance video recorded at the store, a law enforcement source with direct knowledge of the case told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this morning.
You’ll find copyrighted photos of “Dj K-Dawg” all over the Internet. He’s often dressed in a suit, sometimes a Polo shirt or pullover, at events from Queens to South Beach. There are shots of him at parties for popular rapper Juelz Santana and basketball star Tim Thomas. Sometimes he’s spinning tunes on a pair of Denon audiophile turntables.
Local police say “Dj K-Dawg” was spinning something else when surveillance cameras caught images of him using the bogus plastic on Dec. 28.
Glen Rock police this morning told CLIFFVIEW PILOT that Georges hit CVS stores in three towns, including Wyckoff, the same day.
After investigators traced him online, Georges voluntarily came to Glen Rock police headquarters on Wednesday. He’s still being held in the Bergen County Jail on bails of $75,000 from both Glen Rock and Wyckoff.
Local police have brought nearly a dozen charges, nearly all related to theft, forgery and fraud.
Georges also has been implicated in similar incidents in Hamilton Township and elsewhere, public records show.
Police in Midland Park are preparing their own set of charges against him, CLIFFVIEW PILOT has learned.
Wyckoff Police Chief Benjamin Fox urged businesses to be “more attentive to individuals using a credit card to purchase a bunch of gift cards.
“It’s a frequent scam with a stolen or cloned credit card,” Fox told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
