Margaret A. Kerrigan was driving on Brookside Avenue near the Allendale border just after 3 a.m. Sunday when her 2006 Jeep Liberty veered off the roadway.

After knocking down the pole, the SUV “continued across several properties for an additional 288 feet until it struck a stone retaining wall,” Wyckoff Police Chief Benjamin Fox said.

Kerrigan sustained back and leg injuries, he said.

Officer Kyle Ferreira charged her with DWI, reckless driving and driving while intoxicated while being under the legal age to consume alcohol after a blood sample was taken, the chief said.
