Officers Michael Hartmann and Sevan Kasparyan were on patrol when they heard “loud, crashing noises” on Spruce Street, Detective Capt. Martin Kahn said.

They spotted two people running and another walking in the area. They grabbed one, and the other two fled – but backups arrived moments later, Kahn said.

Off-duty Police Officer Bryan Yannuzzi found one of the accused burglars hiding under the deck of a nearby home. The other one got away.

Juvenile complaints were signed for burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and defiant trespass. Both then were released to guardians pending a Family Court hearing. Ridgefield police are investigating connections to similar break-ins in their town.
