Elmwood Park driver with prior DWI fled, tried to hide car after crash, Ridgewood police charge

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A 21-year-old convicted drunk driver was intoxicated when a Ridgewood police officer caught her trying to hide her damaged car following a hit and run crash, authorities said this morning.

Arnella Migirov of Elmwood Park was taken into custody after Office Keith Killion found her and a passenger trying to hide her Honda Accord in a Wall Street garage after it rear-ended a Toyota on East Saddle River Road at 6:55 p.m. Saturday, Detective Chris McDowell said.

The other driver was OK, but Migirov was hurt, for which she was charged with both leaving and failing to report an accident with injury, McDowell told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Police also charged her with DWI, DWI in a school zone, failing to have a required vehicle interlocking device, reckless driving, following too closely, driving an unsafe vehicle and failing to exhibit documents.

Migirov was released pending a Municipal Court hearing.
