Officers found the disabled, heavily damaged vehicles blocking both lanes of traffic on Lake Street just after 1 o’clock this morning, Detective Lt. Edward Kane told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Witnesses told police they saw Malachy Concar, 26, of Pearl River bail out of the car and take off through nearby backyards, Kane said.

Officers from Upper Saddle River, Ramsey, and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit tracked Concar, and a Ramsey officer found him a short time later.

Concar was charged with resisting arrest in addition to several traffic violations, including DWI and leaving the scene of a crash.
