Drivers hospitalized after bus, car collide in Midland Park

YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST: A bus driver and a 79-year-old local motorist were taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with injuries that police said weren’t life-threatening after a collision at a Midland Park intersection this afternoon.

The 58-year-old NJ Transit bus driver from Valley Stream, N.Y., was about to begin the 164’s route to Manhattan via the Meadowlands when it collided with the late-model Chrysler near the corner of Myrtle and Godwin avenues around 3 o’clock .

There were no passengers aboard, Midland Park Sgt. Noah Van Vliet said.

Responding were Midland Park police, firefighters and EMS, along with Valley paramdeics.

Godwin Avenue remained closed in both directions between Central and Myrtle during the investigation.
