Driver not seriously injured after car goes airborne, lands on other vehicles, off Route 17

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Upper Saddle River firefighters cut a New York State woman from her car after it left the road and went airborne off Route 17 last night, landing on SUVs parked in a nearby dealership lot.

The woman sustained injuries that authorities said weren’t considered life-threatening.

Police were investigating the cause of the 7:15 p.m. crash, Detective Lt. Edward Kane told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this moring.

Engine 1232 responded, along with the fire chief, Rescue 1242, Tanker 1233 and Engine 1231.

Mahwah Rescue 1 also responded and crews “worked together to stabilize the vehicle and rapidly extricate the patient,” the fire department said.

Police and firefighters handled traffic, lighting and some scene cleanup at Ramsey Nissan.
