Two lanes of the highway were closed near Sears Drive so the vehicle and some debris could be removed and fuel spill cleaned up.

No power or telecommunications outages were reported in the area.

Bergen County and Paramus police and Paramus firefighters and EMS all responded, along with a paramedic unit from Hackensack University Medical Center.

Crews from PSE&G arrived within a half hour to assess the damage.

Northbound traffic was jammed, while the southbound side thickened with rubberneckers.

The entrance ramp from Sears Drive to Route 17 northbound remained closed indefinitely.

This came roughly a half hour before a crash on Route 17N in Saddle River resulted in multiple injuries and the closure of all northbound lanes near Sheridan Avenue in Waldwick.
