Detectives from the Morris County town served a warrant on the 23-year-old Aleksandra Polkowska at the Bergen County Jail, where she remained held on charges from three different local towns on a combined $50,000 bail.

Garfield police arrested her boyfriend, 26-year-old Dariusz Soltys, last Wednesday after spotting him in the area of a break-in burglary that netted several hundred dollars in cash and jewelry the day before on Orchard Street.

Interrogating him at headquarters, detectives connected Polkowska to the burglary, in which they said Soltys broke in through a first-floor rear window. Three hours later, they had her in custody.

Upper Saddle River police charged Polkowska with theft two days later.

Yesterday, Wallington detectives charged Polkowska and and former borough resident Christine N. Brigida, 20, to an attempted diversion burglary from late last month.

Brigida claimed that Polkowska solicited her for a ride “for dope money.”
