Sgt. Todd Grffith and Officer Dan Rosendahl grabbed the pair Tuesday night after police received a 911 call from the A&P on De Mercurio Drive, Police Chief George Scherb told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Danish Khan, 29, of Fair Lawn, was found leaving the store with unpaid merchandise, while his alleged accomplice, 26-year-old Andre Waterman of Elmwood Park was found in the liquor department pushing a cart filled with bottles of alcohol and other items, the chief said.

Waterman was carrying a hypodermic syringe, he said.

Both were released on summonses charging them with shoplifting.

Waterman also was charged with possession of the syringe, while Khan was charged with several previous A&P shopliftings.
