SADDLE RIVER, N.J. – A judge ordered a salon owner held on $500,000 bail after authorities charged him with paying people to torch a Saddle River business.
Bobby Jackson, 34, “took substantial steps toward making the arson happen but was arrested [in Garfield] prior to the fire being actually set,” Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said Monday.
Grewal’s detectives arrested Jackon, of Harrison, on arson-for-hire charged Friday with help from Passaic police, the prosecutor said.
An Aug. 24 first court appearance was scheduled.
