UPPER SADDLE RIVER, N.J. — For a decade, Upper Saddle River resident Rob Campanelli has been turning his Carlough Road home into a Halloween spectacle by himself.

That changed last year, when he returned from giving blood one September afternoon to find dozens of loved ones and strangers waiting for him outside.

The trend continued this year for Campanelli, his twin boys and wife, Deena, who is wrapping up breast cancer treatment.

"We've just had so much support through a difficult year and a half," Campanelli told Daily Voice.

The Upper Saddle River Junior Women's Club delivered dinner for the family almost twice a week, and dozens of family friends and community members showed continued support, Campanelli said.

Without them, this year's display of zombies, spider webs and skeletons wouldn't have been possible, he said.

The Campanelli Family is sending out a thank you to everyone who pitched in:

"Our heartfelt thanks to the Upper Saddle River community, SRJWC (Saddle River Valley Junior Woman’s Club), SRVJCO (Saddle River Valley Jewish Community Organization), SEPAC (Special Education Parents Advisory Committee), A&A Nurse’s Registry, family and friends for all of their tremendous support and generosity during a challenging time.

We truly appreciate all of the amazing meals, gifts, groceries and gift cards. Your ongoing thoughtfulness, well wishes and offers to help have been overwhelming.

We are grateful for all of you and for everything you have done for us!"
