So big, in fact, that the Tiernan family spends three to four weeks each year prepping their Lindbergh Parkway yard for the festivities.
The corner lot is packed with spooky scenes featuring characters such as a mad scientist, aliens, pirates, a werewolf, and skeletons, pumpkins and gravestones galore.
“We love Halloween,” said Terry, who hand-carved and hand-painted the foam caskets on display.
Terry, her husband Pete and their daughter Amber have been decking out the lawn for about 17 years, she said.
People come by just to catch a glimpse of the spooky yard, especially at night when lights and smoke make the scenes extra scary. But the Tiernans get the biggest crowds on Halloween.
“For Halloween we have over 500 trick-or-treaters,” Pete said.
Some people “drive up and drop their kids off just to trick-or-treat,” Terry said.
The best part of it all: “I like everybody just coming to see it. I really just like all the kids coming,” Terry said.
The house is located at 146 Lindbergh Parkway in Waldwick.
