The event, scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, is to be held at the library at 245 Lake Street, according to organizers.

The premise is simple: A murder has taken place somewhere in the library and the students must solve the case.

According to organizers, the event is open to students in sixth grade and above with a valid Upper Saddle River Library card.

"This year's theme is that there's a murder in the library," said Katie Neylan, the building's young adult librarian. "Everyone gets to participate and be an investigator. If you're shy, it's not a big deal. You can relax and get to the mystery."

A full dinner will be served during the event, Neylan said.

The night will star a troop of Ontario, Canada-based actors called Shot in the Dark Mysteries.

According to organizers, those wishing to attend the event must register in advance.
