The event is from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

The school, at 150 N. Franklin Turnpike, will offer free 30-minute instrument and recording sessions throughout the day.

Budding rockers, including kids sponsored by Children’s Aid, will get to experience a full studio recording session with professional sound engineers who will be on-site to lend their expertise.

Current School of Rock students also will perform live music at the venue.

In addition to the festivities, the school will be accepting food donations to be distributed to the Center for Food Action, along with gifts and gift cards for Children’s Aid and Family Services.

The event is the start of a two-month holiday program to help those in need in the local community.
