For 2017, there are opportunities for 11- to 18-year-olds in the Disney Showchoir Company, which performs at Walt Disney World.
Also, 8- to 12-year-olds are needed for the Hersheypark Junior Showchoir, which performs at HersheyPark.
Over its 20-year history, Saddle River Youth Theater has brought Showchoirs to many venues, including The Actor’s Fund Home in Englewood for retired professionals in the entertainment industry and Giggles Theatre at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital.
The first trip to Disney, which took place in the spring, included 19 members from across Bergen County who ranged in age from 11 to 16.
According to the theater, the trip was the culmination of four months of intense vocal and choreography rehearsals and a year of planning.
The HersheyPark Showchoirs have been a continuous success over the years.

The nonprofit community youth theater is under the direction of Christopher Barker, founder and executive producer.
It has been a Bergen County institution since 1996, with a record number of its graduates pursuing higher education and successful careers in the performing arts.
The theater is in Archer Hall, 37 E. Allendale Ave., Allendale.
