An off-duty Morris County police officer chased down an alleged routine shoplifter who ran into the woods after he was found with nearly $8,000 in stolen merchandise. Police in Mansfield received a call from an off-duty officer from Roxbury who recognized a 34-year-old Middletown, NY man wanted out of several jurisdictions for high dollar thefts on July 16, the department said. You don't see this every day: Police responding to a stolen car crash in Clifton said they found the driver and his female passenger both naked on the sidewalk. Both seemed to be under the influence of some type of drug when city officers found them in the 400 block of Clifton Avenue around 11:30 p.m., Detective Lt. Robert Bracken said. A New York man was found with several stolen prescription blanks after attempting to fraudulently receive Codeine from a Warren County Walgreens, authorities charged. UPDATE: A multi-agency pursuit Thursday night that began in upstate New York ended 100 miles away in Paramus Thursday night after a Brooklyn man rammed two police cars with a U-Haul van that he was driving on two front rims and a rear flat tire, police said.
