Large Hunterdon County Brush Fire: What We Know A large brush fire consumed about three acres of property in Hunterdon County. About two dozen fire companies bought or provided mutual aid due to the fire, which was reported at 1:38 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 20 on Surrey Way in Alexandria Township, according to Quakertown Fire Co.  Brush 91 arrived with heavy smoke and a rapidly moving fire. New Jersey Forest Fire Units arrived shortly thereafter requesting additional engines for structural protection as there are numerous homes and commercial farm properties in the area. Beloved Hunterdon County Native, Former Farm Manager Dies, 42 Beloved Hunterdon County native and former farm manager Frederick Michael Ubel died on Thursday, Aug. 18 at the age of 42. Born in Somerville, Frederick lived in New Jersey his entire life and in Kingwood at the time of his death, his obituary and social media pages say. Frederick worked for several years at Jone’s Farm, starting as a dairy worker in 2014 and eventually moving up to farm manager, a position he held until last year, according to his memorial.
