'Extraordinary' Police Captain To Make History As Jersey Shore City's First Female Chief
A police captain in Cape May County will make history when she's sworn in as her city's first female police chief. Capt. Katherine Madden will become the police chief of North Wildwood on Wednesday, May 1, the city announced. She will be North Wildwood's 14th police chief in the city's history. Madden will replace Chief John Stevenson when he retires on Tuesday, Apr. 30. Chief Stevenson has served in the city's police department for more than 30 years, including the last three as chief. Boy, 10, Hospitalized After Being Struck By Car While Cycling In Mercer County: Police
A 10-year-old boy was rushed to a nearby hospital after being struck by a car while riding a bicycle in Mercer County on Wednesday, Sept. 14, police confirmed. The boy was on his way to school when he was struck near 150 Pond Rd. in Robbinsville Township around 8 a.m., Police Chief Mike Polaski told DailyVoice.com. The boy was taken to Capitol Health in Hopewell for treatment of a non-life-threatening leg injury, Polaski said.

Monmouth County SPCA Appoints New Law Enforcement Officers
A former Eatontown police chief has been named as the new chief of the Monmouth County SPCA, authorities said. Michael D. Goldfarb has been named the Monmouth County SPCA’s new Chief of Law Enforcement, responsible for overseeing the enforcement of animal cruelty cases in the county, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni. Goldfarb replaces Ross Licitra who has been chief since May 2015.
