Man Steals Central Jersey Police Car, Crashes It Twice: Report A Paterson man was arrested after stealing a South Amboy police car and getting into two different crashes, NJ Advance Media reported. Woodbridge police responded to the stolen car at 1:05 p.m. on Monday, July 4. After crashing the stolen car on Route 35, Jamil T. Robinson, 28, fled on foot and allegedly tried to carjack three other vehicles, the outlet said. Robinson was charged with three counts of carjacking, as well as assault by auto, resisting arrest, receiving stolen property, obstruction, and endangering an injured victim, according to the report. Firefighters Battle Hazardous Materials Blaze In Central Jersey: Developing Firefighters were battling a hazardous materials fire in Central Jersey, according to developing and unconfirmed reports.  The fire broke out about 12:15 p.m. Thursday on the 200 block of East Essex Avenue in Woodbridge Township, initial reports said. First Responders Called In Separate Route 9 Woodbridge Crashes Police, firefighters and EMS crews responded to two separate Route 9 crashes, authorities said. The first crash reportedly involved a pedestrian about 6:30 a.m. Saturday at Routes 1 and 9 southbound south of Randolph Avenue, according to initial reports.  That victim was taken to Robert Wood University Hospital in New Brunswick. A second crash was reported on Route 9 near Green Street about 9:30 a.m., reports said. An unconfirmed report said that collision was head-on. The Racestar Gas Station attendant was attacked at about 5:15 p.m. on Monday at 915 Port Reading Ave. in Woodbridge, police said. The 42-year-old victim had a stab found in his neck, police said.
