13-Year-Old Among 2 Dead By Driver Making Illegal Pass On Route 31: Hopewell Twp. Police
Two people including a 13-year-old boy were killed in a head-on crash involving a vehicle that illegally tried to pass other cars on Route 31 in Mercer County, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 10:50 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 11. Kongmi Khu, 32, of Brooklyn, NY, will be charged with vehicular manslaughter and other offenses, police said. Khu was driving south and crossed the double yellow lines in an attempt to pass two other vehicles before slamming into a northbound car, Hopewell Township police said. A hospital worker from Essex County was killed when a drunk driver from Albany ran a red light in Queens and slammed his sedan into his car doing nearly 100 miles an hour, authorities said.
