Massive 5-Alarm Fire Guts Abandoned Trenton School Firefighters were battling a massive five-alarm fire at a vacant school building in Trenton, authorities said. The fire started mid-afternoon Monday, May 15 at a building on Southard Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. That's the former location of MLK Middle School.  A tweet from Trenton Public Schools said the fire engulfed the old Junior No. 1 Building. US Marshals Arrest Trenton Fugitive, 28, In Stabbing Death A 28-year-old fugitive from Trenton has been arrested by U.S. Marshals in last weekend's stabbing death, authorities said. Allen Q. Brookins of East State Street was charged with murder and weapons offenses, according to Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri. Brookins was taken into custody on Thursday evening by members of the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force, Onofri said on Friday afternoon. Authorities ID Victim Of Fatal Trenton House Fire The name of the victim in last week's suspicious house fire in Trenton has been released. The body of Severn Drew, 65, was found in the debris of the Sept. 23 fire on the 700 block of Southard Street, according to Casey DeBlasio, a spokeswoman with the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office. An autopsy concluded that Drew’s cause of death was carbon monoxide asphyxiation, DeBlasio said on Wednesday. The fire and death remain under investigation.
