Just in time for the holidays, Bruce Springsteen paid a visit to a popular hometown restaurant on the Jersey Shore. It was Springsteen's third visit to Roberto's Freehold Grill in two months. Grand Jury Backs Detective In Pursuit Crash That Killed Mercer Scooter Rider, 21
A Hamilton Township police detective did nothing wrong when he tried to stop a scooter rider from Trenton who was killed moments later in a crash, a state grand jury has found. Francis De La Cruz Abad, 21, was operating a Yamaha scooter near the intersection of Route 33 and Whitehorse-Mercerville Road when Detective Brian Davis, driving an unmarked vehicle, tried to stop him shortly after 9 p.m. May 25, 2021. Motel Smoke Alarm Leads To Crack Cocaine Arrest In East Windsor
The activation of a smoke alarm led to the arrest of a motel guest on drug charges, authorities said. At about 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24, East Windsor police responded to Motel 6 on Route 33 due to the alarm. An investigation revealed that a motel patron was smoking and activated the alarm., East Windsor police said. Danielle Piscak, 34, of Howell was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of a weapon and of drug paraphernalia, police said. Two passengers were killed and two drivers were seriously injured in a crash on Route 9 in Freehold Sunday, July 3, authorities said. A 74-year-old Manalapan woman heading south on Route 9 sideswiped a 2015 black Lexus RX350 in a 2019 Lexus NX around 1:30 p.m. at the Route 33 intersection, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey said. She then side-swiped a white 2019 Subaru Crosstrek, before rear-ending a 2017 black Honda CR-V. The black Honda CR-V then rear-ended a 2009 purple Scion TC, Linskey said. Authorities ID Jersey Shore Driver, 50, Killed In Head-On Crash
Authorities have identified the 50-year-old Neptune motorist killed in a three-vehicle crash on Route 33. Robert C. Johnson died after a pickup headed west in the area of Colts Neck Road veered onto the eastbound side of the highway, sideswiped a sedan and then collided with his car head-on, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said. The crash occurred at 12:05 a.m. on Friday, March 11. New Jersey Attorney Gurbir S. Grewal said his office was reviewing the death of a 21-year-old Trenton man in a scooter crash because it somehow involved law enforcement. The man, who wasn't identified, was riding a Yamaha scooter without a helmet near the intersection of Route 33 and Whitehorse-Mercerville Road in Hamilton Township when a township officer in an unmarked car spotted him shortly after 9 p.m. on May 25, Grewal said. Pedestrian Critically Hurt In Mercer County Crash
A 37-year-old pedestrian was critically hurt after being struck by a pick-up truck while crossing Route 33 in Mercer County, authorities said. The truck hit the pedestrian around 8:30 p.m. between Twin Rivers Drive North and Probasco Road, East Windsor police said. Initial reports said the pedestrian was in traumatic arrest. A police pursuit in Monmouth County ended with a crash and arrest of two suspects, authorities said. A chase began about 5:30 p.m. on Friday near 326 W. Main St. in Freehold after an "unspecified incident that occurred at WalMart," initial reports said. A vehicle being pursued by Freehold Township police reportedly crashed along Route 33. Monroe PD: Driver, 72, Who Struck NJ DOT Lawnmower Dies
A 72-year-old man from Monroe Township was killed Wednesday after his car left the roadway and struck a tractor mowing in the median, authorities said. Marc A. Mandelkorn was driving west on Route 33 near its intersection with Bentley Road in Monroe when the collision occurred about 1:15 p.m., Monroe police said in a statement.
