The head of a Jersey Shore police department will step down about three months after a heated interaction between him and one of his sergeants during a crash investigation, officials said. A new study said New Jersey is the second-worst state to retire in 2024, pointing to the Garden State's high costs for taxpayers and lack of healthcare facilities.
