Multiple Dogs Bitten By Rabies-Positive Raccoon In South Jersey A South Jersey animal shelter has issued an alert after multiple dogs were bitten by a raccoon that later tested positive for the rabies virus. Animal control officers responding to the bite report near Mercer Street in Hamilton confirmed that multiple dogs were bitten on Tuesday, Jan. 18, the Hamilton Township Animal Shelter & Adoption Center said.
