14-Year-Old Bicyclist Critical After Being Struck By Car In South Jersey, State Police Say
A 14-year-old boy is in critical condition after being struck on his bicycle in South Jersey on Friday, June 14, authorities said. The boy was struck by a Dodge around 6:35 p.m. on Route 38 at milepost 19.1 in Southampton, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron. The boy was rushed to an area hospital and no other injuries were reported.

Authorities have released additional information in the double shooting Wednesday, June 12 in Carteret. Two females were found having suffered gunshot wounds on Roosevelt Avenue around 9 a.m., and were airlifted to area hospitals, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Carteret Police Chief Dennis McFadden said. As of 2:30 p.m., one victim had died and the other remains critical, Ciccone and McFadden said. Woman, 21, Shot At Large House Party In Central Jersey
A 21-year-old woman was shot at a large party Friday night, June 7 in Highland Park, authorities said. Police were dispatched to the 200 block of South 7th Avenue at about 11:30 p.m. after getting a call about a disturbance. They found the woman shot three times, Highland Park police said. Belmar Police ID Drowning Victim From Labor Day Rip Currents
Belmar police have identified a swimmer who drowned Sunday evening, Sept. 3. Gilberto Mendez Jr., 42, of Roselle Park, was swimming off Fifth Avenue just after 6 p.m. when he began struggling in rip currents, Belmar Borough police said. Three people were hospitalized when a fire destroyed a home early Monday, July 31 in South Jersey, authorities said. Pre-Christmas Fire Severely Damages North Jersey Home
Two cats and a dog died in a pre-Christmas fire that severely damaged a Bergenfield home. Firefighters who responded within three minutes were met by flames on the first floor of the 2½-story Lunn Avenue home shortly after 1 p.m., Bergenfield Fire Chief Edward J Kneisler III said. 100 Central Jersey Firefighters Braved Blaze During Blizzard, 3 Hurt
More than 100 firefighters battled a major house fire as this week's blizzard ramped up in Central Jersey, authorities said. The fire started in a wood-framed, mixed-use building on Broad Street in Manasquan shortly before 4 p.m. on Monday. The building’s owner told News 12 that three people lived on the upper floors of the building and that they were able to escape. Two residents and a local firefighter were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries, fire officials said.
