A helicopter operated out of an Essex County facility made an emergency landing at a Jersey Shore school field Thursday, March 14, authorities said. The commercial passenger helicopter operated by Zip Aviation of Caldwell touched down on a baseball field behind Middletown High School North, adjacent to Marvin Road, Middletown police said. The pilot, who is not being identified at this time, saw the field and determined that it would be safe to make the emergency landing after an indicator light came on, police said. A pilot walked away from a crash landing in Hardwick Tuesday uninjured. The crash occurred on Jones Lane near Stillwater Road around 2:30 p.m., New Jersey State Police said.
