The man was struck by an NJ Transit train just off Fair Lawn Avenue across from the Radburn station platform shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31. Witnesses said it appeared he ran in front of the express train, which didn't have a stop there. It wasn't immediately clear whether he was trying to get to the other side or not, they said. Donato G. Fiocca, 53, and Victor R. Martins, 55, were working on the bridge when they were fatally struck in Camden around 9:20 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14. Both men were members of the Cement Masons and Plasterers' Local 592, Fiocca for 25 years and Martins for 8. NJ Transit Investigating After Man Falls Out Of Train In Secaucus A spokeswoman for NJ Transit blamed "human error" for a frightening incident Monday evening, when the doors opened on the wrong side of a train at the Secaucus Junction station, sending a man spilling out.  The man was not seriously injured and declined medical attention.  The incident occurred aboard a North Jersey Coast Line shortly before 6 p.m. The train was stopped at the station when the doors opened, sending the man tumbling onto the tracks.  The incident is under investigation, the spokeswoman said.

Governor Signs 'Tommy's Law' For Ramsey Man Killed By NJ Transit Train A new bill named after a Ramsey man fatally struck by a train nearly two years ago was signed into law by Gov. Phil Murphy. "Tommy's Law" (A3904), named after 27-year-old Tommy Ryan, will create a new counselor position within NJ Transit who will provide victims and their families with support following an accident. The law passed last week also requires the state to return all personal belongings to victims following an investigation. Ryan died in 2016 after being hit by a train at the station in Ramsey while attempting to cross a double track to reach his train. His family said …
