Firefighters Douse Ridgefield Park Apartment Blaze
Firefighters extinguish an early-morning co-op blaze in Ridgefield Park. The fire broke out in a unit at the three-story garden apartment building on Bergen Turnpike off Teaneck Road around 7 a.m., responders said. No injuries were immediately reported in the two-alarm blaze, which they said went to three bells for coverage. A complete list of mutual aid companies wasn't immediately available. CASE: Ex-Cons Charged With Robbing Ridgefield Park Man
Two ex-cons were charged with pistol-whipping a Ridgefield Park during a robbery outside his home last year. Thomas Parker Sr., 47, was arrested Wednesday following a raid of of his East Harlem, NY, apartment, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. Parker remained held in the city pending extradition to New Jersey, where he was expected to join Arrin Barber, 53, of Irvington in the Bergen County Jail. A Ridgefield Park police detective cracked a pair of car burglaries with the arrest of a village man. Officers were responding to a call of a thief rummaging through a vehicle parked in a Teaneck Road driveway shortly after 11:30 p.m. Sunday when a similar call came in moments later on nearby Mount Vernon Street, Lt. Boy, 12, Knocked Cold By Car Mirror In Ridgefield Park
A 12-year-old boy was knocked cold when he was struck by the mirror of a passing car Thursday afternoon in Ridgefield Park, authorities said. The boy eventually regained consciousness and was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center following the crash at Teaneck Road and Hobart Street around 3 p.m., Police Lt. Joseph Rella said. He was reported in stable condition, the lieutenant said. The driver remained at the scene, he said. Police were investigating.

A truck dropped nearly a ton and a half of baled residential trash onto an exit ramp off Route 46 in Ridgefield Park and kept going Monday afternoon, authorities said.
