Teen Driver Dead, Passenger Critical In Crash Of Stolen Car On Interstate 280
A teenage driver died his passenger injured was seriously injured in a crash involving stolen vehicle on Interstate 280 Sunday, authorities said. The Huyndai Genesis had been reported stolen out of Madison and struck a Honda Pilot on the westbound side near milepost 9.8 in West Orange around 1:15 p.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Lawrence Peele said. The Genesis then overturned and struck the concrete center median barrier, ejecting both the driver and passenger, Peele said. Mahwah Man Charged With Stealing Work Van After Argument In Ridgewood
A Mahwah man who'd been involved in an argument in Ridgewood stole a work van and drove off on Wednesday before police pulled him over, authorities said. Officers had "calmed the situation down and separated the parties" on North Pleasant Avenue when Garrett Thoelen, 34, ran off, Detective Capt. Forest Lyons said. Police nabbed four juveniles after they bailed out of a stolen car that landed in the Passaic River in Clifton. Miraculously, none of them were seriously injured, authorities said.
