Gunman Sentenced In Mass Hudson County Shooting
A 30-year-old West New York man was sentenced to 71 years in prison for a 2019 mass shooting in North Bergen, authorities announced. Jonathan Haughey-Morales got 50 years for the murder of Carlos Garcia, and three consecutive seven year sentences for aggravated assault for the three others injured in the incident, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. A gunman has been convicted by a Hudson County jury in a 2019 mass shooting that left a 40-year-old North Bergen victim dead, authorities announced. Jonathan Haughey-Morales, 30, was convicted on Wednesday, March 2, on all charges relating to the shooting that killed Carlos Garcia and seriously injured three others in 2019, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Family Of NJ Man Shot Dead By Officer At Dorney Park To Get $950K In Settlement Money
The family of a New Jersey man shot and killed by an "inexperienced" police officer directing traffic at Dorney Park will receive $950,000 reached in the settlement of a wrongful death suit, The Morning Call reports. Joseph Santos' two adult sons and 11-year-old daughter will receive a portion of the settlement, aside from law firm costs and fees, according to a copy of the settlement obtained by The Morning Call. A Lehigh Valley man was working as a high school teacher when he had sex with a 17-year-old student numerous times over the course of more than a year, state police charged. Eric Michael Hahn, of South Whitehall Township, engaged in sexual activity with a 17-year-old girl while working as a teacher at Bangor Area High School starting in October 2019, state police said. Hahn, 38, engaged in the activity both in and outside of school, police said. Suspect Wanted For Deadly North Bergen Shooting Nabbed In Pa.
A 27-year-old man suspected of shooting four people in North Bergen early Sunday, killing one, has been captured in Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley by local police, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said. Jonathan Haughey-Morales allegedly gunned down the four people in a home on 46th Street, fatally wounding Carlos Garcia, 40. Another man was critically wounded in the attack.
