Ridgewood School Property Shutdown Aims To Pre-Empt Big Trouble From Large Gatherings
With COVID restrictions on outdoor gatherings loosened, larger and larger groups of teens have begun hanging out in Ridgewood, say authorities who are taking measures to pre-empt any serious trouble from brewing. Village Schools Supt. Thomas A. Gorman blamed “teenagers from many surrounding towns” for immense gatherings that have produced "minor confrontations and vandalism." UPDATE: Paterson’s first Muslim police chief wasn’t in the job long when authorities said he became the target of threatening texts from a Clifton man because of his race, religion and nationality. A grand jury in Paterson returned a terroristic threats indictment against Stefan Keco, 29, who’s been held in the Passaic County Jail since city detectives arrested and charged him more than a year ago with threatening Police Chief Ibrahim “Mike” Baycora. Morris County Police Warn Residents Of 'Evolving' Trend Among Home Burglars
Several Morris County police departments are warning residents of a dangerous and “evolving trend” used by thieves to break into homes. In a Harding Township weekend burglary, someone entered an unlocked vehicle on Pleasantville Road and used the garage door opener to access the high-end convertible in the garage, police said.
