2 Motorcyclists Hospitalized With Serious Injuries In Route 80 Crash
A pair of motorcyclists were hospitalized with serious injuries when one struck the other on Route 80 in Warren County on Saturday, Oct. 5. The Kawasaki and Aprilia motorcycle were traveling east on Route 80 when the 33-year-old Aprilla operator struck the rear of the Kawasaki around 6 p.m. at milepost 12.6 in Hope Township, New Jersey State Polie Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. Both operators were thrown from their bikes and taken to the hospital, one by medevac and the other by ground, with serious injuries. Three Dump Trucks Crash On Route 80, Firefighters Say
A crash involving three dump trucks shut a portion of Route 80 Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 2. Hackensack firefighters were called to the scene in the westbound lanes where they found the three trucks and one passenger vehicle near Exit 64 around 1:50 p.m., they said. There were no injuries reported, however, a large fluid spill from the dump trucks required a DOT truck to respond and apply sand to the leaking fluid. Crash Shuts All Lanes Of Route 80 In Paterson
A crash closed all lanes of Route 80 in Paterson Sunday night, Sept. 29. Three vehicles were heading east when they were involved in a chain-reaction crash, each one rear-ending the next as traffic began to slow down at milepost 58.4 around 8:10 p.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan said. No injuries were reported and the highway has since reopened.

A food delivery driver from Hackensack was arrested Thursday and charged with collecting child pornography, authorities said. Michael Sapuppo, 38, “used the Internet to view, download and possess items depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children,” Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said following the March 21 arrest. Saddle Brook firefighters quickly doused a kitchen blaze on Monday, limiting the damage. The two-alarm fire broke out in the rear of the Congress Street home off Rochelle Parkway near westbound Route 80 shortly before 8 a.m. July 31.
