Corey Womack, of Englewood, was heading west on Route 59 in a gray Audi A6 when he struck a Ford Edge near Broome Boulevard around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 30 in Clarkstown, Det. Norm Peters said. Witnesses reported seeing a gray Audi being operated erratically while traveling westbound on Route 59 from Waldron Avenue, Peters said. Suffern Woman Killed After Being Hit Shoveling Snow By Tree Police are reporting that an 88-year-old Hudson Valley resident who was clearing snow was hit and killed by a falling tree as one of the largest storms to hit the area in years moved through the area. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. Wednesday at 61 Hillside Ave. in Suffern, while Barbara Soleskien was clearing snow and was trapped underneath the large tree as it fell, bringing power lines down within a few feet of where she was trapped, said Suffern Police Chief Clarke Osborn. The man, identified as Arian Hila of Dumont was working at a construction site at 120 Western Highway when he crushed around 1:45 p.m. Friday when a garbage chute collapsed and landed on top of him near a dumpster, said Orangetown Police Capt. Donald Butterworth. He was rushed to Nyack Hospital for treatment where he is listed in critical condition, Butterworth said. The man works for Atria Consulting who was performing work on the site.
