Police Seek Man In Assault Of NJ Transit Bus Driver Over Used Ticket A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a man who authorities say assaulted an NJ Transit bus driver who wouldn't accept a used ticket. Sulaiman Boyer, 34, and another man got on the bus that stopped at Lenox Street and Sanford Avenue July 21 around 7:15 p.m., Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara said. The driver told arriving officers that one of the two men gave him a ticket that had already been used. Kevin Collins, 37, and Daysha Kelly, 35, operated out of a Pine Beach home, while Elex Hyman, 49, and Jamie Steen, 38, used a Lakewood home, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said. Man Struck, Killed By Train In Elizabeth A man was struck and killed by a train Thursday night in Elizabeth, responders said. Northeast Corridor train 3891 struck the man near W. Grand Street station around 10:45 p.m., NJ Transit spokesman Jim Smith said. The bus will run between Edgewater and the Port Imperial Ferry Terminal in Weehawken, where ferry customers can connect with direct ferries to Midtown and Downtown Manhattan, the NY Waterway announced. The bus service is a temporary measure prior to relaunching ferry service from Edgewater. Man Struck By Rockland-To-Hoboken Train A man was hospitalized after he was struck by a commuter train Sunday night in Paterson. The Main Line #1732 train had left Suffern at 9:07 p.m. and was due to arrive in Hoboken at 10:19 p.m. when it struck the man just west of the Paterson train station shortly before 10 p.m., NJ Transit’s Lisa Torbic said. Responders said they got the victim out from under the train and took him to nearby St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. None of the 16 people were injured and service wasn’t affected, Torbic said. NJ Transit police were investigating, she said.
