Passaic County 7-Eleven Sells $1.7M Jersey Cash 5 Winner A lottery ticket good for just over $1.7 million was sold at a Passaic County 7-Eleven. The ticket from the Wednesday, Sept. 11 Jersey Cash 5 drawing was sold at the convenience store at 218 Pompton Turnpike in Little Falls. The prize was $1,704,450. The winning numbers were: 09, 13, 18, 36 and 44 and the XTRA number was: 02. The Bullseye number was 09. The retailer will receive a bonus check for $2,000 for the winning ticket sold.

Haledon Officer Shot While Conducting Drill At Passaic County Shooting Range A Haledon police officer is recovering after an accidental shooting during a rifle course at the Passaic County shooting range this week, authorities said. The officer was conducting a drill during the week-long course when a round discharged into his leg on Wednesday, Sept. 10 around 12:45 p.m. at the range in Paterson, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said. The Officer was taken to St. Joseph’s Medical Center for treatment for injuries that were described as non-life threatening.

Justin Hoyt, Passaic County Native, Dies, 26 Passaic County native Justin Hoyt died on Tuesday, Aug. 27, his obituary on the Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home website says. He was 26 years old. A Woodland Park native, Justin also lived in Little Falls but had moved to California two years ago to bettering himself and "working with those suffering from addiction, helping others on their journey," his obituary says.  Justin was remembered as a bright light who felt most comfortable in nature. West Nile Virus Case In Bergen County, 2 Deaths In NJ Reported New Jersey health officials are reporting an additional six cases of West Nile Virus including two deaths, and two presumptive viremic blood donor (PVD) cases in the state.  The six new WNV cases are residents of Bergen, Camden, Cumberland, Hudson, Mercer, and Middlesex counties (one 50+, two 60+, one 70+, two 80+).
