Paterson Shootout Leaves 1 Critical, Another Wounded, Police Say A Paterson shootout left two men wounded, one with critical injuries, late Saturday, Oct. 5 , authorities said. The 33-year-old man and 28-year-old man, both of Paterson, exchanged gunfire near Straight Avenue and Park Place around 11:15 p.m., Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. It began when no fewer than seven shots were fired at the busy intersection of Park Avenue and East 22nd Street, cutting down one of the men, shortly after 6:30 a.m. Oct. 1.
