Services Set For Oakland Woman, 38, Killed By Jeep A funeral service for Nora Kohlash of Oakland is scheduled at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home in Pompton Lakes on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at 8 p.m. Visitation will be at 7 p.m. that evening. Kohlash, 38, was struck and killed by a Jeep backing out of a driveway on Feb. 21. The Paterson native was home-schooled and lived in Oakland during her adult life. She will be remembered for her smile and love of life. Oakland Woman Killed By Jeep Lived At Developmentally Disabled Group Home OAKLAND, N.J. – (UPDATE) A 38-year-old Oakland woman who was struck and killed by a Jeep backing out of a driveway this week had been living at a nearby group home for developmentally disabled adults. Nora Kohlash was killed Wednesday on Thackery Road -- in what law enforcement authorities called a "tragic accident" -- five doors down from the Bethesda Lutheran Communities group home where she'd been living. “A tragic accident – nothing criminal,” a law enforcement official told Daily Voice.
