Lionsgate Production Studio Expected To Bring 600 Jobs To NJ's Largest City
The largest city in New Jersey is about to get some major movie attention and it's going to need a big crew to keep it afloat. Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka and Governor Phil Murphy recently announced that Lionsgate will be opening a brand new 12-acre TV and film complex in Newark, worth more than $125 million. The facility will be the first "purpose-built studio" in New Jersey to cater specifically for TV and film production, according to a release from Mayor Baraka. Trio Nabbed In Passaic Home Invasion Shooting: Prosecutor
Three people have been arrested in connection with a home invasion shooting that injured a 28-year-old Passaic man earlier this month, authorities said. Farad Anthony and Sahad Burgos, both 31 of Passaic, assaulted the victim and fired a handgun in his direction during the incident at home on Market and Morris streets just before 8 a.m. May 4, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Hundreds Of Flights Canceled, Delayed At Newark Airport
Hundreds of flights were canceled and delayed due to snow Friday at Newark Liberty International Airport. As of 10:50 a.m., 142 flights were delayed and 238 were canceled, according to FlightAware. Those numbers were expected to increase, the airport said in a tweet. Eighty-four of those cancelations were from Republic Airline; 58 were from United; and 57 from GoJet, the website says.
