Christmas Eve Murder: Son Charged With Killing Dad In Morris County
A Morris County son is accused of killing his dad on Sunday, Dec. 24, authorities said.
Kyle Meyer, 33, is believed to have killed his dad, 61-year-old Gregory Meyer, was found dead in the home the two shared around 1:15 p.m. on Old Denville Road in Boonton Township, Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll said.
Kyle was found in Paterson around 9 p.m., Carroll said alongside Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, Morris County Sheriff James Gannon, and Boonton Township Police Chief Thomas Cacciabeve.

NJ Man Arrested For Selling Heroin, Coke Hours After Parole Release Under Murphy COVID Law
A Sussex County man was arrested for selling heroin and crack cocaine, just hours after being released from parole supervision last week, authorities said.
Leighton A. Brown, 42, of Newton, was arrested at his home last Wednesday, and charged with distribution of heroin and crack cocaine, as well as selling CDS within 1,000 feet of a school zone, police said.
Brown was released from parole supervision on Nov. 4, under Gov. Murphy’s COVID-19 law that reduced and ended parole time, police said.
He was being held at Morris County Jail in accordance with the Criminal Justice Reform Act.

One person was arrested and another hospitalized in a Morris County restaurant stabbing over the weekend.
Melvin Guillen-Gomez, 27, assaulted another 27-year-old victim during an argument at Su Casa Colombia Bar Restaurant on East Blackwell Street in Dover just before 10 p.m., Deputy Chief Jonathan Delaney told Daily Voice.
The victim, a Dover resident, was taken to Morristown Medical Center for treatment, authorities said.
