Authorities are investigating an armed robbery and shooting that took place in Fair Lawn early Sunday morning, Feb. 2, officials said. Fair Lawn police responded to Henderson Boulevard and 11th Street at approximately 4:55 a.m. after receiving reports of gunfire, according to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella. A man is in critical condition after suffering extensive burns in a fire at a Lodi apartment complex, authorities announced on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2024. Lodi police responded to a 911 call about a medical emergency on Union Street at approximately 7:59 a.m., according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office. A 16-year-old boy has been charged in connection with a shooting that left a 15-year-old in critical condition Wednesday night, Nov. 5 in Ridgefield Park, authorities said. Police called to the garden apartments along Teaneck Road around 7:25 p.m. and found the girl with a gunshot wound to her back, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. UPDATE: A Paramus man who’d just stabbed his father to death dragged the body to a bathroom and tried to set it on fire last week as part of an attempt to conceal what he’d done, authorities said. Melvin Thomas repeatedly stabbed his father, 61-year-old Manuel Thomas, in the chest with a kitchen knife on Valentine’s Day, a criminal complaint says.
