Sun Sets On Gillian's Wonderland Pier: Hundreds Show Up For One Last Ride Gillian's Wonderland Pier shut down the rides one last time on Sunday, Oct. 13. Hundreds of people showed up this weekend to say goodbye to the Ocean City. amusement park as it closed after 94 years in business. In August, Mayor Jay Gillian, the park's owner, announced he'd be terminating the multi-year lease in the weeks to come. This was it.
