A knife-wielding man in the stairwell of an apartment complex in Camden County was shot and killed by a police officer, authorities said. members of the Haddon Township Police Department responded to a 9-1-1 call regarding an attempted burglary in progress at an apartment complex located on West Crystal Lake Avenue in Westmont around 1:05 a.m., New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin said. Montville police did nothing wrong during a traffic stop on Route 80 in which the driver suddenly ran onto the highway, where he was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer, a grand jury has found. Kevin Cruz, 25, of Black River, NY, was pronounced dead shortly after being struck on the westbound side of the interstate highway around 2:30 a.m. Aug. 22, 2019.
