A helicopter operated out of an Essex County facility made an emergency landing at a Jersey Shore school field Thursday, March 14, authorities said. The commercial passenger helicopter operated by Zip Aviation of Caldwell touched down on a baseball field behind Middletown High School North, adjacent to Marvin Road, Middletown police said. Police were trying to piece together if a 23-year-old Bucknell University graduate jumped or fell out of a plane moments before it made an emergency landing with the pilot on board. Pilot Escapes Hardwick Crash Landing Without Injury
A pilot walked away from a crash landing in Hardwick Tuesday uninjured. The crash occurred on Jones Lane near Stillwater Road around 2:30 p.m., New Jersey State Police said. No one was injured when a small plane made an emergency landing in the Hudson River in Rockland County early Tuesday evening, authorities said. Piermont firefighters and EMS and Nyack firefighters were operating at the end of the pier while a Rockland County sheriff's Marine Unit towed the single-engine craft to shore, police said. Pair OK After Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing In North Jersey Field
Two people aboard a small plane survived an emergency landing late Sunday afternoon in northwest New Jersey, State Police confirmed. A distress call was transmitted from the craft over Lake Hopatcong in Sussex County just after 4 p.m., responders said. The Cessna 172 then landed hard in Lafayette Township, eight or so miles from Sussex County Airport and about 25 miles south of the New York State border, NJSP Lawrence Peele confirmed.
