Clifton Mechanic Charged With Multiple Sex Assaults On Child In Garfield
A 20-year-old Clifton mechanic was charged with committing multiple sexual assaults on a child in Garfield. Garfield police notified Special Victims Unit investigators of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office on Jan. 23 of allegations that Erly Campoverde had sexually assaulted the child, who was younger than 16, more than once, Prosecutor Mark Musella said. Campoverde, who's an Italian national, was arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 31, Musella said. A judge refused to release a security company salesman from West Milford who’s charged with sexually assaulting a township woman. Austin Hopler sexually assaulted the woman -- who, like him, is 25 -- following an event at a local home last June 6, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. A registered sex offender from Passaic County who was released from custody just months ago was busted again -- this time for taking out his penis and rubbing it against no fewer than three random females, authorities said. Rolphy Capellan, 29, most recently from Clifton, was convicted in July 2015 of following a woman into a store and exposing himself to her and a 2-year-old child. A Paterson man illegally touched a 15-year-old girl, authorities charged. Kenyatta Lighty, 44, was sent to the Passaic County Jail following his arrest last Friday, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes announced on Monday, Dec. 12. Members of her Special Victims Unit charged Lighty with two counts each of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact and third-degree child endangerment for two separate incidents in July 2021 and July 2022, the prosecutor said.

A Monmouth County jury has found a Hudson County man guilty of raping a woman after their first date at a Jersey Shore beach, authorities said Kawami R.
