Fitness Trainer Killed On NJ Turnpike Mourned By Clients
A New York fitness studio is mourning the loss of one of its trainers, killed in a New Jersey Turnpike crash early this week. Jerome "Jerry" Christal-Gattanella was rear-ended and killed while his car was parked in the shoulder of the northbound side of the highway in Newark late Monday, Feb. 19, as previously reported by Daily Voice. Details Released In Parkway Crash That Killed Monmouth U Student Returning From Work Shift
Daily Voice has obtained details about the crash that killed an 18-year-old Monmouth University student last week. Madison Alfano of Staten Island, NY, lost control of her car and hit the driver's side of another vehicle on the northbound side of the Garden State Parkway in Sayreville around 7:50 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, New Jersey State Police Trooper Troy McNair said. Alfano's car went into another lane and she was hit by an oncoming pickup near mile marker 125.6, just south of the exit for Route 9 and New Jersey Route 35, McNair said. UPDATE: A wrong-way driver from Fort Lee who hit a half-dozen people in midtown Manhattan as he tried to flee police on New Year’s Day has a history of drug arrests and convictions, records show. Mohamed Alaouie, 44, was driving a Mercedes sedan that twice mounted the sidewalk on West 34th Street going the wrong way, hitting people, vehicles and a food cart overnight Monday before finally coming to rest, city police said. One Hospitalized Following Hackensack Crash
A collision in Hackensack sent a van into a pole and a driver to the hospital. Police, firefighters and EMS responded to the Saturday morning crash outside the Ostroswki Court housing complex at Central Avenue and First Street. Jeep Knocked Onto Divider In Fair Lawn Crash
A traffic light came down and a Jeep ended up on the median in a Saturday afternoon crash in Fair Lawn. One of the drivers was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with a traumatic injury after the Jeep collided with a sedan at the corner of 30th Street and Broadway shortly before 6 p.m., witnesses said.
